Job description

SUMMARY

Responsible for all activities associated with safelyoperatingand caring for the forklift.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Operation andcare offorklift in a safe manner. Must be qualified to properlyoperatethe forklift.

Complete and document a forklift inspection form before start of shift and whenoperatinga new forklift and turn in maintenance work orders to supervision for needed repairs.

Locate stock before the start of the run.

Deliverappropriate stocktoappropriate machinessafely and on time.

Remove finished goods from machines.

Maintain neat, orderly, and safe stacks of stock in storage areas.

Complete necessary paperwork inan accurateandtimelymanner.

Maintainaccuratelocation of stock in storage area by paperwork and computer.

Maximize theutilizationof equipment byoperatingthe machinery at available capacity and speed.

Adheres todailyproduction schedule. Makes recommendations foroptimizingthe schedule to meet cost, quality,deliveryand service goals.

Assistother forkliftoperatorsas necessary.

Complete necessary reports inan accurateandtimelymanner, including but not limited to: Production Data, Machine Operational Status, Safety Data, Quality Data.

Comply withall company policies and procedures, including safety andmaintaininggood housekeeping.

Additionalduties may be assigned by management.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Candidates arePREFERREDwho offer the following:

Prior work experience in the corrugated industry.

Prior work experience as a forklift operator.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Able to read and follow instructions on factory masters.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Able to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy. Able to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, measurement,volumeand rate. Able to apply concepts of high school math.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply commonsenseunderstanding to carry out instructionsfurnishedin written, oral, or graphic form. Ability to deal with problems involving one or more concrete variables in standardized situations.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

The individual must have a working knowledge of the following:

Equipment design and capabilities that can be translated into efficient operation.

Product layouts and production specifications

Product quality specifications

Quality standards
