Job description

MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Senior NetApps Storage Architect to join our team in Laurel, MD.

Join ManTech’s mission-focused national security team delivering enterprise infrastructure capabilities for a global workforce. This role will support the Intelligence Community’s Enterprise Information Technology (EIT) platform in Maryland. This role supports infrastructure associated with Data Center & Computing Services, Integrated Product Teams (IPT), and vendors to deliver services to ManTech’s customers in the IC.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Design, architect, configure, deploy, upgrade, and support various storage and backup platforms and associated management tools.
  • Participate in the evaluation, deployment, management, and integration of new technologies in alignment with other engineers, architects, and technical service lanes.
  • Provides technical leadership and is responsible for the development of new storage infrastructure and Information Lifecycle Management designs, including requirements and analysis.
  • Shares ownership of the operational responsibility for storage provisioning and availability at government customer site with the Customer/Government Storage Manager.
  • Keep abreast of current developments in storage and backup technology to assist Federal staff in assessing the future direction of storage and backup technology.
  • Responsible for the delivery of the technical architectural design, strategies and plans that will be delivered on an ongoing basis.
  • Create and maintain documentation: logical/physical diagrams, run books, and other technical engineering documents.
  • Performs end-to-end analysis on the performance of the storage infrastructure, presents findings, and submits recommendations for improvement.

 Minimum/Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in a technical field is required. An additional 5 years of experience in storage operations might be substituted for degree.
  • 15+ years' experience in storage operations or storage architecture, with a focus on NetApps.
  • Experience with SAN, NAS, Fiber Channel and iSCSI storage implementations.
  • Proven proficiency in storage solutions including but not limited to block, nfs, sif, s3, sharefile systems, and nas.
  • Strong understanding of fundamental hardware concepts: disk, memory, CPU, NIC, HBA, firmware, RAID, performance concepts (I/O, paging, swapping, system calls), iSCSI, Fiber Channel, Ethernet.
  • Experience connecting storage arrays to Hypervisor Technologies (NUTANIX, VMWARE VCF, OpenStack).
  • IAM II certification (DoD 8140 required upon start of employment.  Acceptable certifications include
    CCNA-Security/CySA+/GICSP/GSEC/Security+ CE/CND/SSCP)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 20 years' experience in overall storage operations or storage architecture. 10 years of experience in the specific storage technology that is in the customer environment.

Clearance Requirements:

  • Must have a current active Top Secret/SCI with Polygraph
