Job description

Our New Teammate

We are seeking a hands-on Technical Service Owner to support and manage our infrastructure storage environment. In this role, you will work closely with Data Center Architects to oversee the operational needs of our data centers, with a primary focus on storage solutions. You will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, performance, and scalability of our storage infrastructure while driving operational excellence across the environment.

You can expect to spend your time accomplishing the following:

  • 60% of the time on Objective 1: Storage Engineering & Infrastructure Management
  • 40% of the time on Objective 2: Linux System Administration


Job Responsibilities – What to Expect

  • Lead the design, deployment, and ongoing management of enterprise storage platforms, including Pure Storage, NetApp and Dell PowerVault
  • Serve as subject matter expert for storage infrastructure architecture, best practices, and capacity planning
  • Manage SAN/NAS architecture, LUN management, multipathing, and replication across production environments
  • Perform storage performance analysis, optimization, and troubleshooting
  • Coordinate storage firmware updates, expansion projects, and technology refreshes
  • Support virtualization platforms, including CloudStack, KVM, and VMware vSphere/ESXi
  • Perform server hardware break/fix activities, including diagnosis, parts coordination, and resolution (Dell PowerEdge and similar)
  • Onsite Data Center management at our Sterling, VA, and Ashburn VA Datacenters
  • Maintain comprehensive system documentation and configuration management
  • Serve as Linux subject matter expert for enterprise environments (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu)
  • Lead system design, implementation, and ongoing management of production Linux infrastructure
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting, performance tuning, and capacity planning for Linux systems
  • Manage server lifecycle, including provisioning, patching, hardening, and decommissioning
  • Implement and maintain system security controls to meet SOC2 and ISO20000 compliance standards
  • Maintain storage documentation, including diagrams, runbooks, and capacity reports


Your Knowledge & Expertise

  • 5+ years of hands-on Linux system administration in enterprise production environments (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu, or similar distributions)
  • Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) or RHCSA
  • NetApp NCSA / NCSE (NetApp storage administration - strong plus)
  • Pure Storage PSEE (Pure Storage platform proficiency)
  • Proven hands-on experience with Pure Storage, Dell PowerVault platforms, and NetApp
  • Strong experience with SAN/NAS architecture, including LUN management, multipathing (device-mapper-multipath), fiber channel, iSCSI, and NFS/CIFS protocols
  • Experience with Linux storage subsystems
  • Strong background in server hardware
  • Experience with virtualization platforms (CloudStack, KVM, VMware vSphere/ESXi)
  • Experience with data center operations
  • Working knowledge of Windows Server administration
  • Working knowledge of network troubleshooting and management
  • 3+ years implementing automation solutions using Ansible and AWX in production environments
  • Strong proficiency with Git version control and GitOps workflows
  • Advanced scripting skills in Python, Bash, and PowerShell for systems automation
  • Experience developing Infrastructure as Code and configuration management solutions
  • Understanding of CI/CD concepts and automation pipeline development
  • Experience with monitoring and observability platforms (OpenNMS, Grafana Cloud, or similar)
  • Proven track record of identifying and automating repetitive operational tasks
