Job Description
VMware Architect
Location: Englewood, CO (100% onsite required)
Rate: 70-80/hr all incl.
Duration: 3-6 Months (Like to be 1+ year for the right resource)
Provide technical leadership and the maintenance of the technical architectural design, strategies, and plans that will be delivered on an ongoing basis.
• Ongoing management of configuration and layout of the storage infrastructure.
• Perform necessary storage infrastructure maintenance in accordance with EMC and Customer change management policies.
• Design or support design creation of data migration architectures as required.
• Provide analysis of the environment and best practice knowledge transfer.
• Responsibility for capacity planning as well as disaster recovery planning and design as applicable.
• Provide ITIL process planning as applicable.
• Recommend changes to procedures which result in operational optimization and improved SLAs.
• Participate in Root Cause Analysis reviews as applicable.
• ESX and Virtual (or Physical builds) support and configuration
• VADP support and integration
• Should have experience backing up VMware using VADP and Networker - assumes experience with Symantec NBU (NetBackup) process and procedures
• Able to conduct and apply all VMware configurations associated with completing backup services or migrations to Networker environment
• Provide future documentation of Knowledge Transfer to end-client
• Facilitate integration of EMC and end-client team work streams
