Job description

Title:
Global Server, Storage, & Backup Manager KBR is seeking a Global Server, Storage & Backup Manager to lead a geographically distributed team responsible for enterprise compute, virtualization, storage, and data protection services. This role is accountable for the reliability, security, performance, and lifecycle management of infrastructure platforms supporting a global technology environment. The successful candidate will bring a combination of infrastructure operations leadership, technical expertise, and people management experience. Working closely with Cybersecurity, Cloud, Network, Enterprise Architecture, Service Management, and business stakeholders, this leader will drive operational excellence, service improvements, recovery readiness, and infrastructure modernization initiatives across the enterprise. In September 2025, KBR announced that we are spinning our Mission Technology Solutions business into a separate public company. This role will ultimately be part of the new company. The Mission Technology Solutions business partners with governments and defense, intelligence, space, aviation, and critical infrastructure customers to deliver high-end engineering, science, technology, and mission support solutions. Key Responsibilities * Lead a global team responsible for enterprise server, virtualization, storage, and backup services.
* Ensure the availability, performance, security, and recoverability of infrastructure platforms across on-premises and cloud environments.
* Oversee the administration and lifecycle management of Windows Server, Linux, virtualization, storage, and data protection technologies.
* Lead backup, recovery, and disaster recovery programs to ensure business continuity and recovery readiness.
* Develop and maintain operational standards, procedures, documentation, and service support models.
* Monitor service performance, capacity, and operational health while driving continuous improvement initiatives.
* Lead major incident response activities and ensure root cause analysis and corrective actions are completed.
* Partner with Cybersecurity teams to remediate vulnerabilities, strengthen controls, and maintain compliance with security requirements.
* Ensure infrastructure services align with IT Service Management processes, including incident, problem, change, and asset management.
* Manage infrastructure vendors, support partners, licensing agreements, and service performance expectations.
* Support infrastructure upgrades, migrations, modernization efforts, and technology transformation initiatives.
* Develop and mentor team members while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and operational excellence.
* Manage operational planning, budgeting, forecasting, and technology investment priorities.
* Communicate service performance, operational risks, and strategic recommendations to technical and business leaders. Basic Qualifications Education & Experience * Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
* Clearance & Citizenship: Must be a U.S. citizen with an active/current Secret Clearance or be eligible to obtain and maintain.
* 12+ years of experience supporting enterprise infrastructure environments, including server, virtualization, storage, or backup technologies.
* 5+ years of leadership experience managing infrastructure operations teams.
* Experience supporting large-scale, globally distributed enterprise environments.
Skills & Competencies * Strong knowledge of enterprise server, virtualization, storage, backup, disaster recovery, and infrastructure operations.
* Experience supporting Windows Server, Linux, VMware, or comparable enterprise technologies.
* Experience leading operational support, incident management, capacity planning, and technology lifecycle management activities.
* Experience with IT Service Management processes and tools such as ServiceNow.
* Strong leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
* Ability to effectively lead geographically distributed teams and manage competing priorities.
* Ability to participate in major incident response and occasional after-hours support activities.
* Ability to travel up to 25% Preferred Qualifications * Experience supporting global engineering, government services, aerospace, defense, or other highly regulated organizations.
* Experience with Microsoft Azure or other enterprise cloud platforms.
* Experience with enterprise infrastructure technologies such as Cisco UCS, NetApp, Pure Storage, Rubrik, or similar solutions.
* Experience leading data center migrations, infrastructure modernization programs, mergers, acquisitions, or divestitures.
* Familiarity with cybersecurity and compliance frameworks such as NIST, CMMC, or ISO standards.
* Relevant technical or leadership certifications, including VMware, Microsoft, Cisco, ITIL, NetApp, Rubrik, or similar credentials.
