Job Type:RegularThe Cold Storage position is responsible for all areas of cold storage as well as shipping and receiving. This position weighs cheese, loads and unloads trucks and inventories product; working closely with Plant Supervisors to monitor/ensure an accurate inventory level.

Your key responsibilities:

  • Accurately weigh cheese at 640 scale. Facilitate quality assurance tests such as customer tare weight checks.

  • Rotate cheese to proper temperatures to meet proper aging for customer requirements.

  • Load and unload trucks in a safe, efficient manner that meets customer requirements; ensuring all seals are intact and correct.

  • Check all paperwork, packing slips, purchase orders, bills of lading, etc. to ensure accuracy.

  • Promptly handle all temperature sensitive products.

  • Label all incoming product, receiving tags, and hold tags accurately.

  • Follow FIRST IN FIRST OUT procedure when applicable.

  • Inspect all trailers for cleanliness and integrity. Complete shipment inspection sheet.

  • Prepare loads for shipment and inspect for quality assurance.

  • Unload 640 components, keeping them in correct order.

  • Work with cheese grader by moving cheese in and out of cooler as requested.

  • Maintain proper care and charging of forklifts and maintain safety inspection records.

  • Work with feta department to help ensure cheese & supplies are handled and cared for correctly.

  • Complete shipping and receiving tasks in SAP for timely and accurate transactions, as assigned.

  • Understand and adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices.

  • Safety Protocol

  • Stop any observed unsafe acts and obey facility safety rules and procedures.

  • Correct or report any observed safety hazards.

  • Support safety policies and programs.

The individual who will own this role:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.

  • Minimum one (1) year of relevant experience preferred.

  • Forklift experience preferred.

  • Forklift License at time of hire or with in-house training required.

  • Demonstrate attention to detail, quality and cleanliness in work.

  • Ability to follow written, verbal and diagrammatic instructions; complete simple checklists and complete required documentation.

  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with colleagues and individuals inside and outside the organization.

  • Dedication to meet the expectations and requirements of internal and external customers; acts with customers in mind.

  • Ability to work with minimum supervision, adapt to a changing environment quickly, and think independently.

  • Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).

  • Basic computer operational skills; able to input and retrieve computerized information.

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively at all levels in a collaborative team environment.
