Rogers Group, Inc., headquartered in Nashville, is a privately held aggregates and asphalt highway construction company operating in 13 states with over 3,500 employees. Rogers Group is currently seeking a Quarry Plant Groundsman/Laborer for our Liberty / McMinnville Quarries. This position will be reporting to our Quarry Plant Manager with a starting salary of $20 an hour. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to lead safety, quality, and revenue generation throughout our existing operations and additional operations through growth.
Job Duties
  • Monitoring and clearing spillage around conveyor belts.
  • Assisting mechanics and millwright with welding, metal fabrication and machinery repair,
  • Inspections Conducting pre-shift and post-shift inspections.
  • Site Cleaning, Sweeping, shoveling and cleaning plant equipment

Job Responsibilities
  • Inspections: Conduct routine checks on plant equipment (e.g., rock crushers, conveyors, stone graders) to identify signs of wear, leaks, or mechanical malfunctions.
  • Perform preventative maintenance tasks like greasing moving parts, changing fluids, and checking fluid levels to prevent unexpected breakdowns.
  • Assist mechanics or operate independently to fix and maintain equipment, frequently using welding or plumbing skills

Qualifications:
  • Age: Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to perform heavy manual labor, lift heavy objects, and stand or walk for long periods in varying weather conditions.
  • Safety Adherence: Strict understanding and application of mining and safety regulations (e.g., MSHA or OSHA standard
  • Basic ability to use hand tools, perform light machinery maintenance, and fix or replace components like conveyor belt lines
  • Prior experience or a willingness to learn to operate support equipment like skid steers, loaders, water trucks, or haul trucks.
