Warehouse Associate / Material Handler — Natural Stone & Slab Distribution

Company: Dwyer Marble & Stone
Location: Indianapolis, IN 46278 (8138 Woodland Dr)
Work Type: In person, full-time
Pay: $18–$22 per hour (depending on experience), plus production bonus and double-time pay on Saturdays
Schedule: First shift, approx. 8:30 AM–4:30 PM, about 40 hours per week, with occasional Saturdays
Provided: Forklift and slab-handling equipment

Quick Highlights
  • Get in early at a brand-new, fast-growing Indianapolis branch of a 30-year, family-owned stone distributor
  • $18–$22 per hour, plus a production bonus and double-time pay on Saturdays
  • Steady day-shift schedule, about 40 hours per week, with only occasional Saturdays
  • Hands-on, forklift-driven work with premium natural stone, quartz, and porcelain slabs
  • A customer-facing role — you’ll help move and display slabs for customers, not just work back-of-house
  • A stable, multi-generational family-owned company staffing for the long term, not turnover
About Dwyer Marble & Stone

Founded in 1995, Dwyer Marble & Stone is a family-owned company that has grown into one of the Midwest’s largest and fastest-growing distributors of natural stone, quartz, and porcelain surfaces. We import and distribute premium slab and tile materials — including our own ENVI Surfaces quartz line — to fabricators, designers, builders, and architects across the country.

With our headquarters in Farmington Hills, Michigan, and an established branch in Grand Rapids, we opened our Indianapolis location in early 2026 as part of a national growth plan. This is a ground-floor opportunity to join a small team and grow with the branch as it scales.

About the Role

We are hiring a Warehouse Associate for our Indianapolis branch — the dependable backbone the branch’s fast-service promise runs on. You will safely load and unload natural stone and quartz slabs from trucks, move and stage material with a forklift, and keep inventory organized and ready to ship.

Because our warehouse team also moves and displays slabs for customers on site, this is a customer-facing role, not just back-of-house. You will be a visible representative of the Dwyer brand — presentable and composed under tight delivery windows. From time to time, the branch may also use warehouse staff for short local delivery runs.

What You’ll Do
  • Safely load and unload natural stone, quartz, and porcelain slabs from trucks — the highest-care task on the floor
  • Operate a forklift to move, stage, and organize slab bundles and material
  • Move and display slabs for customers visiting the branch
  • Receive inbound shipments, pull and stage orders, and keep inventory organized and accurate
  • Keep the warehouse clean, safe, and orderly
  • Support short local delivery runs as needed
  • Communicate clearly with the branch manager, the team, and customers
What You Bring
  • Reliability and punctuality — you show up on time, every shift; this is the single most important thing in this role
  • A genuine safety-first approach to handling heavy, expensive material
  • Comfort with physical, forklift-driven warehouse work
  • A presentable, customer-ready demeanor and composure under tight delivery windows
  • The physical ability to lift and maneuver heavy material and stay active throughout the shift
  • Located in or commutable to the Indianapolis metro (onsite role; relocation is not part of this search)
  • Forklift certification is a plus
  • Stone, building-products, or heavy-materials warehouse background is a plus
  • A valid driver’s license and clean driving record are a plus, since the branch occasionally uses warehouse staff for local deliveries
  • A long-term mindset — we are staffing for stability, and a reliable hire becomes a long-term fixture here
Compensation and Benefits
  • $18–$22 per hour, depending on experience
  • Production bonus
  • Double-time pay on Saturdays
  • Full-time, day-shift schedule, about 40 hours per week
  • [BENEFITS TO CONFIRM — insert medical/dental/vision, 401(k), PTO, and holidays once JR sends the summary]
  • A stable, growing, family-owned company where a dependable hire becomes a long-term fixture
