Job description

Since 2005, Da Vinci Marble has been helping homeowners, designers, architects, and contractors create inspired interiors and exteriors with its hand-curated selection of stone and tile.

Da Vinci Marble is searching for a full-time, in house, high-energy Stone & Tile Designer who can showcase our passion for high-end residential design to engage with architects, designers, and contractors in our showroom in San Carlos.

The Stone & Tile Designer must understand and meet client budgets and timelines, present creative design ideas that leverage our slab and tile offerings while understanding technical material requirements and manage the evolving stone and tile portion of projects from start to finish. Candidates must be detail-oriented and organized, have strong communication and problem-solving skills, be adept at working in a fast-paced environment and have a passion for award-winning design all while providing superior customer service.

The ideal candidate will have experience in residential and/or architectural design with a proven record of strong relationships with Designers, Architects and/or Contractors. Experience in kitchen/bath design is a definite plus. The candidate must be an excellent multi-tasker, problem solver, confident in approaching clients and collaborating on complex, multi-faceted project design plans.

Da Vinci Marble is looking for someone with a passion for residential design along with a strong customer-service orientation to carry out the following:

Responsibilities:

  • Meet with Da Vincis interior design, architect, contractor clients along with homeowners on stone and tile aspects of residential (and occasionally hospitality) projects in showroom
  • Required to service daily walk-in clientele on a set floor rotation
  • Assess budget, timing, and project scope to recommend materials that meet any constraints and are appropriate for desired applications such as flooring, steam showers, pools, etc.
  • Conduct daily follow-up to clients with quotes and invoices with appropriate trade discounts
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while striving for timely follow up
  • Leverage CRM to manage client relationships, interactions, and opportunities to demonstrate an accurate pipeline
  • Present monthly projected sales in pipeline meetings
  • Work closely with Business Development to manage projects and large opportunities
  • Ability to problem solve and make independent decisions in line with the companys policies and procedures
  • Creative thinking skills resulting in design inspiration supporting product sales
  • Engage in strategic outreach to develop and grow client base
  • Proactively reach out to clients when new products arrive and check in with clients who havent visited to promote loyalty
  • Attend regular on-site product training sessions with our many artisan tile lines to continuously stay abreast of our offerings and design trends
  • Develop detailed knowledge of all product lines and features
  • Network with the professional trade through involvement in events, associations, meetings; including external events
  • Provide excellent customer service to deliver a seamless customer experience and achieve strong results
  • Maintain a calm and professional demeanor under pressure and work well with colleagues
  • Position will be measured through achievement of $1.0-$1.2 million and above in net sales and net sales goals
  • Position is highly collaborative and team oriented; ability to be flexible in response to changing priorities and needs

Qualifications:

  • College degree with emphasis in design or certificate in residential design preferred
  • 3 years in sales; luxury retail sales experience a plus
  • Stone and tile product knowledge
  • Familiarity with kitchen and bath design
  • Ability to interpret basic architectural drawings and understand construction process
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
  • Previous knowledge of CRM platform preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to lift and maneuver up to 30 pounds
