Job description

Warehouse Forklift Operator

Operate fork trucks in a safe, efficient, and effective manner while unloading trucks and moving freight within the DC.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Responsible for moving incoming merchandise from truck to dock, and dock to correct stocking areas.
  • Responsible for stocking all rack merchandise and arranging rack surplus from zones in the appropriate manner.
  • Responsible for setting down rack surplus for zones so orders can be filled and replenishments can be made to stocking locations.
  • Perform any miscellaneous tasks that require a fork truck.
  • Replenish outbound totes as needed, where applicable.
  • Assist with maintaining mezzanine zones.
  • Maintain safety standards while operating and identify unsafe practices and situations.
  • Team members with experience may be designated as trainers. As a trainer, take ownership of the DC target training program ensuring that all training is conducted according to schedule, and that all documentation is complete. Explain specific job duties and functions to help ensure success of new team members, as well as to convey any departmental or procedural changes to existing team members.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Skills/Education/Experience:

Required:

Must work well in a team environment

Operating knowledge of fork trucks and power equipment

Desired:

High school diploma or equivalent (GED)

Experience operating various types of power equipment

Advanced knowledge of parts lines in warehouse and surplus merchandise locations

Advanced computer skills

Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish is highly desired)
