Summary:


Ruby Jewel Ice Cream is home to the Northwest's #1 ice cream sandwich, and we are seeking energetic people to join our ice cream sandwich production and manufacturing team.

Our ice cream sandwiches are truly handmade, and that's where you fit in. We hand-squish, and manually process thousands of ice cream sandwiches a day at our production HQ and are seeking new, energetic, culturally fit staff to add to our already amazing ice cream sandwich production team!

The schedule for this position is 8:00AM - 4:30PM, Monday-Friday


As a full-time employee, this role is eligible for participation in our benefits program including health/vision/dental, long and short-term disability, voluntary life, flexible spending accounts, 401(k) program, front-loaded PTO, nine paid holidays (including one floating holiday), and more!

Principal Responsibilities:


  • Ice cream sandwich processing and manufacturing
  • Packaging preparation and coding
  • Stocking boxes, bags, and prepping production equipment
  • Transfer inventory between the production floor, storage freezers and the warehouse
  • Sanitation processes and procedures
  • Adhere to GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), sanitation and food safety requirements
  • Understand, read and follow plant policies and procedures
  • Must be friendly, courteous, flexible and enjoy working with a variety of staff
  • Must be detail-oriented and work effectively under pressure while meeting all applicable deadlines
  • Work independently, productively and be able to manage multiple projects
  • Palletizing finished goods in a freezer environment


Physical Requirements and Working Environment:


The position is a production team position within a food manufacturing environment which may at times require the following:

  • Ability to come in contact with allergens including but not limited to: nuts, dairy, gluten, latex
  • Work with automated and semi-automated ice cream equipment (continuous freezer, packaging equipment, liquid nitrogen tunnel, etc.)
  • Work with manual and powered lifts
  • Work with manual and power tools (box knife, hammer, drill, etc)
  • Work with hazardous chemicals
  • Stand, walk and lift for long periods of time throughout a shift
  • Communication with all department managers and supervisors, occasional visitors, and contracted workers operating within the facility
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 50lbs
  • Work periodically in a cold storage environment


Education, Prior Work Experience, Specialized Skills and Knowledge:


  • Food Manufacturing in a warehouse environment preferred
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Ability to comprehend, speak and read English
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must have reliable transportation
