Job Overview

Responsible for receiving, unloading, unpacking, and storing equipment, material, supplies, merchandise, foodstuffs, or tools. Also, compiles stock records in stockroom, warehouse, or storage yard.

Roles & Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully and safely, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Accepts delivered packages and ensure proper amount is inside by Counting, sorting, or weighing delivered articles to verify receipt of items on requisition or invoices.

  • Unloads and examines stock to verify conformance to specifications.

  • Stores articles in bins, on floor, or on shelves, according to identifying codes such as style, size, price or type of material.

  • Makes sure the label is clear and visible.

  • Completes and helps customers mail, Web, and phone orders by retrieving the ordered merchandise.

  • Requisitions articles to fill incoming orders.

  • Maintains inventory and other stock records.

  • Prepares periodic, special, or perpetual inventory of stock.

  • Compiles reports on use of stock handling equipment, adjustments of inventory counts and stock records, spoilage of or damage to stock, location changes, and refusal of shipments.

  • Distributes and moves stock among production workers in all departments.

  • Verifies equipment is in working order, meets safety requirements, and helps facilitate repairs/replacement as needed.

  • Determines methods of storage, identification, and stock location, considering temperature, humidity, height and weight limits, turnover, floor loading capacities, and required space.

  • Cleans and organizes all stock locations and makes sure it complies with safety and environmental rules, policies and procedures. Stop at risk behavior of other and self.

  • Maintains MSDS requirements per company and client guidelines.

Education and/ or Experience:

High school diploma / GED

No previous experience or training is required.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

Valid Driver's license with clear MVR.

Forklift certification is required.
