Description

JOB TITLE:  Stocker

ORGANIZATIONAL UNIT: Firelake Discount Foods

SUPERVISOR:   Stock Manager

FLSA: Non-Exempt

SALARY: $12.00-$17.00 


JOB SUMMARY: A stocker is responsible for maintaining customer service. He/she is responsible for stocking and maintaining inventory levels, controlling expenses, shortages, and all aspects of merchandising and inventory control. He/she is responsible for maintaining excellent housekeeping procedures during stocking of store.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 


* Ensure that each customer receives outstanding customer service by providing a customer friendly environment which includes greeting and acknowledging every customer, maintaining outstanding standards, solid product knowledge and all other components of customer service.

  • Implement and maintain customer service standards.
  • Maintain all merchandising standards, display presentation and monitor inventory levels.
  • Ensure housekeeping policies are maintained during stocking procedures.
  • Maintain adherence to all company policies and procedures, emphasizing loss prevention and safety.
  • Any other duties as assigned by management.
  • Able to efficiently use a box knife.
  • Responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of all grocery store floor areas.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform other duties and projects as required by management.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to communicate with associates and customers.
  • Ability to read, count, and write to accurately complete all documentation.
  • Ability to freely access all areas of the store including sales floor, stock area, and register area.
  • Ability to operate and use all equipment necessary to perform his/her duties.
  • Sitting or standing for long periods of time, occasional bending, squatting, kneeling, stooping, good finger dexterity and feeling, frequent repetitive motions, talking, hearing, visual acuity, and climbing ladders.
  • Ability to move or transfer merchandise throughout the store generally weighing zero to one hundred pounds.
  • Ability to work varied hours/days as business dictates.
  • Any other duties as assigned by store director.

WORKING CONDITIONS: 

  • Normal grocery environment.
