HOURS

1st shift = 7am-3pm
2nd shift = 3pm-11pm
3rd shift = 11pm - 7am
*Due to Union bumping rights, applicants must have shift flexibility*


2nd shift premium = $1.80/hr

3rd shift premium = $1.25/hr


SUMMARY

The mill stocker is responsible for the review, retrieval and documentation of all steel coils introduced into the mill Production area used in the manufacturing of tubing by performing the following duties.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Retrieves mill stocker and quantity sheets, reviews shop order with Mill Operator(s) for material verification of round size, gauge, material type, master material number and quantity to determine items to be moved, gathered or distributed.
  • Goes to "coil storage area" under the applicable round size and checks if material and quantity needed are available. Calculates estimated coils and weight. Checks coil master material number to the shop order master material. Uses computer to verify inventory if necessary. Uses fork lift to move coils to mill coil dump area.
  • Places coils on dump stand according to predetermined process. Documents on the mill stocker sheet, under the appropriate mill number, the coil numbers staged at the mill.
  • Upon completion of the order, any partial coils are to be retagged and prepared for restock.
  • Compiles mill stocker sheet and gives to shift supervisor at end of the shift. Shift supervisor will forward mill stocker sheets to Traffic Department.
  • Any other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Less than high school education; at least 10th grade education or equivalent; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.


REASONING ABILITY

Ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Fork lift and Overhead Crane Certification


OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITES

Ability to use main frame computer to check inventory.
