Department: Food and Beverage
Employment Type: Seasonal - Full Time
Location: Rail Services
Description

Have a desire to work outside enjoying the land of the midnight sun?! How our rail cars are stocked plays a huge part in the overall guest experience and success of our operations. You will be responsible for ensuring the proper stocking of all items placed onto our domed rail cars.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Performs a variety of entry-level cleaning tasks.
  • Routinely, checks and records inventory restocks supplies, and cleans facilities and equipment.
  • Monitor all inventory and proper rotation of products.
  • Stock ice in all train freezers.
  • Follow all safety and sanitation guidelines.
  • Routinely fill out logs and forms for time and temperature checks of food items, coolers, freezers, and sanitation buckets.
  • Proper disposal of all trash and recyclables.
  • Destock train cars, proper rotation of products, and detailed documentation.
  • Follows all end of night procedures including nightly cleaning and organizing checklists, proper storage of product and checkouts with supervisor or management.

REQUIREMENTS
  • Some experience in positions involving food handling and sanitation is normally preferred for this job.
  • Must pass a pre-employment background check.
  • Minimum age of 18 years is required to reside in company housing, where available.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States. Holland America-Princess is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of employment visas at this time (e.g., H-2B status).

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
  • The position is frequently required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, occasionally up to 70 pounds.
  • Ability to prioritize work, and maintain attention to time constraints, while working in a team or group environment. You must also have the ability to organize work, meet deadlines, maintain attention to detail and accuracy, and supervise and manage staff.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple tasks and external influences.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while achieving daily goals.
  • Ability to support and comply with company policies, procedures, and guidelines including support and comply with company health and safety standards.
  • Ability to stand/walk/work on feet for a minimum of 8 hours per day.
