SOLAR SERVICE TECH JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION OVERVIEW
Join our Positive Energy Service Team in their quest to keep the solar systems of northern NM up and running and generating clean energy. We are looking for a service technician based in the Albuquerque region. If you enjoy solving complex problems, troubleshooting electrical and solar equipment, and working in a collaborative team environment, this could be the perfect career for you. This full time position reports to the Service Manager and generally works Monday - Thursday with some flexibility in the hours. Positive Energy is an employee owned company, where you can work for YOUR company and share in the profits.
Responsibilities
• Work safely and efficiently
• Troubleshoot electrical equipment and solar equipment
• Maintain updated Case Records in software program (NetSuite)
• Set up data monitoring
• Provide feedback to the Field Manager on quality issues identified on installations.
• Prompt response to new service cases by coordinating with Case Manager and Customer
• Provide updates on Service Cases to Service Manager
• Maintain stock on the service truck and ensure it is always clean, serviceable and organized.
• Plan materials needed for service calls; identify new products to solve technical issues.
• Job duties may vary as necessary to best support the business.
• Travel to job sites required.
Required Qualifications
• Excellent communication skills

• Able to pass a background check
• Maintain a valid driver's license, clean driving record, and insurance
• Furnish your own basic set of electrical tools
Desired Qualifications
• 1-3 years of experience installing with a good foundation of all aspects related to solar systems
• NEC Code knowledge
• Residential Journeyman's License or eligible to sit for the ER1J exam within one year of hire
• Education: Associates degree in electronics, PV, or electrical trades
• NABCEP Installer Certification
• Commercial Journeyman electrician license
Physical Requirements
• Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds, climb ladders, squat, kneel, walk on uneven surfaces, work with hand tools, work full days outside in inclement weather.
• Ability to work on a computer and at a desk for multiple hours during the day.
