Summary:
The Senior Collections Analyst is responsible for providing expertise and high-quality service focused on collecting receivables with a sense of urgency and within agreed payment terms. Will strive to grow mutually beneficial connections with our stakeholders through leveraging skills, knowledge, and technology. This role will manage a customer accounts receivable portfolio of $15M+ through an effective collection process, adhering to controls and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure collection and/or dispute resolution is achieved in a timely manner. The Senior Collection Analyst will ensure that systems containing collection information are updated, including tagging disputes and adding comments, to facilitate accounts receivable reporting, account reconciliation, portfolio analysis, bad debt reserves recommendations, and collaboration across the organization. This role will also support mentoring and training new hires.
What You'll Do:
  • Build key and essential relationships and foster effective communication with customers, sales, operations, and leadership.
  • Maintain daily communication with customers via email and phone regarding payment status.
  • Be a trusted business partner to key stake holders and communicate any challenges that require collaboration.
  • Proactively conduct and interpret complex research, analyze trends to improve customer payment performance.
  • Complete ownership of customer portfolio with authority of aligning unique details required of each customer.
  • Research trends and identify opportunities for process improvement within assigned portfolio.
  • Work with customers within and outside the organization to resolve disputes.
  • Leverage collection software and Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups) to meet goals.
  • Prepare credit memos, refund requests and write-offs for credit management approval.
  • Develop and track action plans to meet monthly individual and team goals.
  • Independently seek out and collaborate with cross functional teams to resolve collections issues stemming from disputes, whether on rate or service matters, and offer solutions to facilitate their resolution.
  • Maintain account/invoice-level notes.
  • Train and mentor new employees.
  • Ad-Hoc projects as needed.

What You'll Bring:
  • Bachelor's degree in business or accounting, or equivalent related work or military experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of collections experience with at least 2 years in the logistics industry preferred.
  • Previous collection software experience (Oracle Fusion, Get Paid, etc.)
  • Experience with online banking, lockbox and customer payments.
  • The ability to identify opportunities to increase accuracy and optimize resources, as well as develop, recommend and implement solutions.
  • Prior exposure to management of large (high volume) AR accounts within a portfolio and improving/sustaining such an account for an extended period.
  • Development of individual analysis on various accounts to assist in management of larger customers with increasing accuracy and efficiency via software tools (i.e. Pivot Tables, V/H-Lookups in Excel)
  • Prior knowledge of interaction between Collections and other business segments in order to leverage insight and understanding of larger customers (working with Billing, Pricing, Sales, Customer Service).

Compensation & Benefits Information:
  • Compensation Range: $56,000 - $79,937
