SUMMARY: TheMaintenance Supervisoris responsible fordirecting and coordinating activities in maintenance to ensure safe production standards are met ina timelymanner. Willbe responsible forcarryingout managerial/supervisory responsibilitiesin accordance withthe company's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include planning,leading,directing and assigning work;training employees;appraising performance; rewarding and counseling employees when necessary tomaintaina high standard of employee relations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Thislist is not intended to beall-inclusiveand other duties may be assigned.

  • Coordinate and supervise theworkactivities of personnelprior to the beginning of shiftin accordance withthecompany'spolicies and applicable laws.
  • Responsible for practicing according to Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOP), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), federal food safetyregulationsand all company policies
  • Plan and organize work shifts for thetimelycompletion of all maintenance activities.
  • Organizeandfacilitatejob training activities for all subordinates.
  • Develop a collaborative relationship with all departments.
  • Coordinate all work processes with other internal departments of the company.
  • Comply withall plant policies and the Occupational Safety and Health (OSHA) rules while conducting maintenance processes.
  • Initiateandmaintainan effective and efficient preventative maintenance program capable ofmaintainingregular operations.Develop a competent workforce byutilizinghands-on training methods in the work area focusing ontimelyrepair of all production machinery and equipment in the plant.
  • Maintains systems and equipment by completing preventative maintenance schedules, records; rebuild, restore,repairand replace faulty or inoperative parts and components toassurework can beaccomplishedon time.
  • Maintains a safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures thatcomply withapplicable laws.
  • Responsible formaintenance operational standards by providing informationtostrategicplanning;productivity,qualityand customer service standards.
  • Maintainan effective safety awareness program including regular departmental safety meetings.Provide written feedback on injuries and accidents ina timelyfashion and continue efforts for improvement.
  • Plan for projects which willassureproper materials are ordered and available for repair and maintenance of the equipment in the plant which will keep inventories at a minimum and reduce parts cost.
  • Maintainaccuraterecords of employee work hours,vacationand other absences; when necessary,take action to correctin accordance withthe company's policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training employees,planning,directingand assigningwork; appraisingperformance; rewarding and counseling employees when necessary tomaintaina high standard of employee relations.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:Bachelor's degreefromfour yearcollege or university preferred; or (2) two or more years relatedexperiencein pork or beef manufacturing maintenanceor the combination of education and experience that enables performance in all aspects of the position, including supervisory experience.Well-developed management skillsutilizingsound management principles in leading a team of employees.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS:Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability towriteroutinereports and business correspondence.Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.Bilingual (Spanish) preferred.Ability to effectively manage time and meet all specified deadlines.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:Ability to read and interpret documents in the English language such assafety files,operatingand maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.Must be able to effectively communicate withUSDA,productionand management personnel.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:Ability to apply mathematical applications to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY:Abilityto solve practical problems.Ability to interpret a variety of instructionsfurnishedin written, oral,diagramor schedule form.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Ability to use computers and all standard programs used by the industry and the ability to learn and effectively useany and allother computer programs that are or will be made available.Must be proficient in MP2.Must have experience with electrical systems, including PLCcontrols;hydraulic and pneumaticsystems;welding/fabrication skills.
