Job description

Lakeview Hospital is looking to hire a Sterile Processing Tech! Come be a Partner for Good and help us make an impact on the care and experience that our patients and their families receive every day.

The Sterile Processing Tech cleans, decontaminates, and sterilizes all instrumentation and associated equipment for the OR and other hospital departments. The Sterile Processing Tech is responsible for accurately completing all records pertinent to the sterilization process, working with the repair vendor to maintain the integrity of instrumentation, and monitoring all autoclaves (and arranging for any maintenance needed).

Work Schedule: 

  • 12:00 p.m.-8:30 p.m., Monday-Friday, every ninth weekend on call (after training is completed).

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • One of the following:

    • Current CSPDT from the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (or obtained within one year of hire date).

    • Current CRCST from the Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (or obtained within one year of hire date).

  • Computer skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Coursework in sterile processing or equivalent sterile processing technician experience.

  • Certification in sterilization.

  • Previous knowledge and experience with sterilization in a hospital or ambulatory surgical center.

Additional Information:

This is a non-union 1.0 FTE (80 hours per pay period) day/evening shift position, working in Stillwater, MN. The full salary range for this position is $22.00-$33.00 per hour, based on experience and internal equity, plus shift differentials. This position is non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act, and is eligible for benefits. Our benefits include medical and dental insurance (which begin on the first day of the month following start), 401k with match, disability insurance, fertility benefits, tuition reimbursement, educational reimbursement toward continuing education, and we are a qualified non-profit employer under the federal Public Service Loan Forgiveness program.
