The hospital’s RN residency program is accredited by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) as a Practice Transition Accreditation Program and Pathway to Excellence, ensuring high-quality training for nurses.
  • The Sterile Processing Technician uses various tools, techniques, and equipment to provide sterile surgical instruments to the patients.
  • Test sterilization equipment according to current policy and document results.
  • Assemble instrument trays for sterile processing. 
  • Handle, store, and transport sterile items to maintain conditions of sterility.
  • Inspect, return, and store items not used on cases. 
  • Participate in teaching other staff members as delegated by the Sterile Processing Coordinator. 

Job Requirements:

  • High School diploma or GED
  • Must obtain National Certification by the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) or IAHSMM within two years of hire date, if not currently certified. 

 Preferred Job Requirements:

  • Previous experience in instrument processing or surgical technology.
