Your future role at a glance

Location:  Tulsa, OK

Facility:  Ascension St. John Medical Center

Department/Specialty:  Sterile Processing 

Schedule:  Full-time day shift, Monday through Friday, 6:30am-3:00pm

How you'll make an impact in this role
  • Lead and empower the sterile processing team by providing direct supervision, coaching, and daily support to ensure seamless adherence to safety guidelines and quality standards.

  • Master surgical instrument readiness by overseeing decontamination, assembly, and sterilization processes aligned with top-tier AAMI industry standards to protect patient safety in the operating room.

  • Optimize surgical case preparation by ensuring all case carts are accurately prepared, fully stocked, and delivered on time for scheduled procedures.

  • Drive quality and workflow excellence by monitoring regular quality assurance audits, tracking performance metrics, and delivering constructive feedback to elevate team outcomes.

  • Build and mentor a high-performing team through active recruitment, comprehensive onboarding, continuous skill development, and performance evaluations.

What minimum qualifications you'll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • One or more of the following required:
    • Central Service Tech specializing in Sterile Processing credentialed from the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date orjob transfer date.
    • Central Service Tech specializing in Sterile Processing credentialed from the Healthcare Sterile Processing Association obtained within 12 Months (1 year) of hire date or job transfer date.
    • Associates hired or transferred into the role prior to 12/26/21 can be credentialed as a CentralService Tech or Surgical Tech. Associates hired or transferred into the role after 12/26/21 must becredentialed as a Central Service Tech through Certification Board for Sterile Processing andDistribution (CBSPD) or International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management (IAHCSMM).

Education:

  • High School diploma equivalency with 2 years of cumulative experience OR Associate's degree/Technical degree with 1 year of experience OR 5 years of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
