Job description

Position:

Seeking an experienced Sterile Processing Technician for a 13-week travel assignment. The Sterile Processing Tech will be responsible for cleaning, decontaminating, sterilizing, assembling, and distributing reusable medical and surgical instruments and equipment throughout the hospital while ensuring compliance with infection prevention and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

Clean, disinfect, sterilize, and prepare surgical instruments and medical equipment according to established protocols.
Assemble and prepare surgical case carts based on physician preference cards.
Monitor and document sterilization indicators including biological, chemical, and physical testing results.
Maintain inventory and restock sterile supplies and equipment.
Operate sterilization and decontamination equipment safely and according to manufacturer guidelines.
Distribute sterile supplies and equipment throughout the facility.
Maintain sterile processing work areas in compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
Follow PPE, infection control, and safety procedures at all times.
Education
High School Diploma or GED required.
Sterile Processing Technician Program preferred.
Certifications
BLS Certification required.
Sterile Processing Technician Certification preferred.
Experience
Minimum 2+ years of Sterile Processing experience preferred.
Previous hospital sterile processing experience strongly preferred.
