Medical Assistant (Float) - Columbus Market (Full Time)

Company: Vera Whole Health

Primary Locations:

  • 5050 Bradenton Ave, Dublin, OH 43017

  • 1111 Polaris Parkway, Columbus, OH 43240

  • Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:30am-4:30pm (1hour lunch break) Pay Rate: $21/hr

  • Experience Required: 1+ years

  • Certification: Not required

  • Specialties: Phlebotomy required; Primary Care experience preferred

  • EMR: Athena experience a plus

About the Role

We're seeking a Medical Assistant (Float) to support multiple Vera Whole Health care centers across the Columbus market. This role provides both clinical and administrative support, ensuring smooth patient flow and highquality care. You'll work closely with providers and clinic teams while traveling between 2 locations as needed.

Key ResponsibilitiesPatient Care
  • Take manual vital signs and document in the EMR

  • Assist providers with exams, diagnostic tests, and pointofcare testing

  • Administer immunizations, injections, and oral medications

  • Observe and record patient reactions

  • Perform phlebotomy and prepare lab specimens

  • Process labs, swabs, and other samples

  • Provide routine patient education and selfmanagement support

  • Track preventive care needs, referrals, and followup items

  • Conduct outreach to patients and specialists for referrals, care gaps, and records

Clinic Operations
  • Manage patient flow throughout the care center

  • Set up exam and procedure rooms based on visit needs

  • Answer multiline phones and assist with front desk duties when needed

  • Schedule appointments and support patient registration

  • Maintain inventory and restock supplies

  • Serve as an externalfacing representative for the clinic

  • Travel to other sites for coverage or events as needed

Compliance
  • Perform QA controls and complete required documentation

  • Follow safety and infectioncontrol protocols

  • Maintain HIPAA confidentiality

  • Meet medical record documentation standards

  • Participate in quality improvement and comply with OSHA/CLIA guidelines

Team Collaboration
  • Participate in team meetings and huddles

  • Support training, orientation, and ongoing competency assessments

  • Work with clinic teams to meet performance targets

  • Adapt to flexible hours or shifts as needed

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Additional Qualifications
  • Ability to set up exam/procedure rooms using sterile/aseptic technique

  • Basic knowledge of cleaning, sterilization, and autoclaving

  • Ability to support officebased procedures

  • Understanding of immunization administration for all age groups

  • Experience documenting in an EMR
