Job description

Summary
While performing duties related to St. Clair Hospital, this position is responsible for maintaining operation and flow of the department while performing the basic duties within Sterile Processing. Trains Sterile Processing technicians on the performance of their duties. Based on specific assignments and in accordance with established standards, collects, processes, and distributes equipment, supplies, and instruments needed for patient care to the nursing units. Responsible for the processing and sterilization of all surgical instrumentation. Required to assemble and deliver case carts for all surgical procedures.
Minimum Qualifications
  1. High School graduate or equivalent.
  2. Graduate of an accredited Sterile Processing or Surgical Technologist training program, or at least two years of Sterile Processing experience.
  3. Meets of one of the following:
    1. Active certification as a Central Service Technician or Central Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician
    2. Attainment of certification as a Central Service Technician or Central Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician within 18 months of hire.
    3. Employment by a health care facility as a Sterile Processing Technician or Central Services Technician prior to December 28, 2020.

Preferred Qualifications
  1. Sterile processing certification.
