Job Summary:
This position is responsible for the cleaning, disinfection, inspection, assembly and sterilization of instruments, supplies, linens and assembly of surgical case carts in Sterile Processing in accordance with established policies, procedures and industry standards.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

o Maintains departmental policies and procedures while following all departmental quality assurance programs, safety, environmental and infection control standards.

o Decontaminates, cleans, inspects, and assembles surgical instruments and medical devices according to established policies and procedures.

o Packages and wraps instruments and supplies using proper techniques to maintain sterility.

o Operates, monitors, and performs basic troubleshooting on sterilization equipment, including steam sterilizers, low-temperature systems, and related devices, within established parameters.

o Performs biological, chemical, and mechanical testing of sterilization cycles and documents results according to quality assurance standards.

o Assembles surgical trays, code carts, and case carts accurately and efficiently.

o Stores and rotates supplies, equipment, and instrument trays in accordance with departmental procedures and industry standards.

o Maintains accurate records for sterilization loads, instrument tracking, and inventory documentation.

o Receives requests for patient care equipment and delivers items to units in a timely and customerfocused manner.

o Follows all infection prevention practices, standard precautions, and safety guidelines related to chemicals and hazardous materials.

o Participates in education programs, in-service training, and demonstrates knowledge of assigned specialty areas.

o Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Sterile Processing Tech I Pay Rate USD Hourly: $20.91 - $29.28

o High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.

o Completion of a Sterile Processing Technician training program preferred.

o Current certification in Sterile Processing Technology (CRCST or equivalent) preferred.

o Minimum of one year of sterile processing experience preferred

o Demonstrated ability to stay organized and prioritize tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.

o Basic computer skills required; experience with instrument tracking systems preferred.

o Ability to operate automated and technical equipment used in sterile processing

Qualifications Sterile Processing Tech II Pay Rate USD Hourly $21.96 - $30.74:

o High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.

o Current certification in Sterile Processing Technology (CRCST or equivalent) required.

o Experience Requirement:

One year of MWHC sterile processing experience OR two years of external SPD Ilevel experience.

o Completion of a Sterile Processing Technician training program preferred.

o Demonstrated competence in sterile processing practices, including instrument identification and advanced set assembly.

o Demonstrated ability to stay organized and prioritize tasks effectively in a fastpaced environment.

o Basic computer skills required; experience with instrument tracking systems preferred.
