Supervisor Sterile Processing - Evening Shift - $10,000 sign on Bonus

What you will do!

 
    • Provide internal Sterile Processing support to the Operating Room, nursing units, and specialty procedural areas
    • Deliver external support to Kootenai Outpatient Surgery and Kootenai Clinic Physicians
    • Oversee department scheduling, staffing, and daily assignments
    • Develop, implement, and update policies and procedures
    • Partner with leadership on hiring, coaching, performance management, and disciplinary actions
    • Conduct audits and ensure accurate documentation and quality assurance compliance
    • Direct instrument repair processes and coordinate replacement purchases
    • Support capital equipment planning and procurement
    • Oversee and maintain the instrument tracking system for all users
    • Participate in meetings, committees, and cross-functional initiatives
    • Manage departmental budget and resource allocation
    • Maintain knowledge of industry standards and best practices (AAMI, AORN)
    • Ensure consistent, reliable attendance and team accountability
    • Perform additional duties as assigned
     
     
     Requirements & Minimum Qualifications
    • Education:

      • Associate’s Degree required OR Relevant certification (e.g., Certification in Healthcare Leadership – CHL) or 2 years of related experience may substitute for degree (total of 5 years related experience)
    • Experience:

      • Minimum of 3 years of sterile processing or related experience required
    • Certifications:

      • Central Service Certification through Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) required
      • Continuing education and additional certifications strongly encouraged
    • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

      • Strong understanding of AAMI, AORN, and industry standards
      • Proven leadership, organizational, and decision-making skills
      • Experience with quality assurance processes and documentation
      • Proficiency in Microsoft Office or similar tools for reporting and documentation
      • Ability to lead teams in a fast-paced, high-stakes healthcare environment
     
     

    Working Conditions:

     
    • Must be able to lift or move up to 50 lbs
    • Must be able to maintain a standing position
    • Typical equipment used in a clinical job
    • Must be able to reach arms above or below shoulder height
    • Must be able to stoop, crouch, or bend
    • Exposure to needles, blood and body fluids, etc
