Salary Range:

$77,075.00 - $119,466.00Invasive Cardiovascular Technologists are allied health professionals who performs diagnostic examinations at the request or direction of an Interventional Cardiologist during invasive cardiology, noninvasive cardiology, and/or peripheral vascular study procedures. Through subjective data collection and recording, the technologist obtains information from which a correct anatomical and physiological diagnosis may be established for each patient.
Hourly Range: $26.36 - $42.18


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Actively involved in all phases of the peri-procedural process.
  • Manipulates procedural instrumentation under the direct supervision of the Interventional Cardiologist.
  • Responsible for supplies, and equipment necessary during the invasive cardiology procedure.
  • Anticipates the needs of the Interventional Cardiologist.
  • Constantly on vigil for maintenance of the sterile field.
  • Able to function independently for basic procedures and with minimal supervision of a senior technologist in the scrub role during advanced and highly complex procedures, and function as a circulator under the supervision of the Registered Professional Nurse (RN).
  • Requires emergency on-call duties.


Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree - required
  • Graduate of an approved Cardiovascular Training Program - required
  • Graduate from an accredited Allied Health Program. - required
  • 1-3 years in the cardiovascular specialty. - required
  • Demonstrates familiarity with and working knowledge of normal vs. abnormal cardiovascular anatomy, physiology, radiation safety, interventional supplies and equipment operation.
  • Able to anticipate and prepare for the necessary treatment if adverse events occur intra procedure.
  • Able to anticipate and prepare necessary equipment for emergency procedures.

  • ABLS - Advanced Burn Life Support Upon Hire - required
  • PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support Upon Hire - required
