Position Overview
Midsouth Steel is seeking an experienced Project Manager – Structural Steel Erection to oversee and manage assigned projects from preconstruction through completion. This role is responsible for ensuring projects are executed safely, on time, within budget, and in alignment with company objectives and contractual commitments.
The ideal candidate is a strong leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and understands the complexities of structural and miscellaneous steel erection.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure strict compliance with safety programs, company procedures, and jobsite regulations.
  • Oversee all contractual obligations and ensure adherence throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Develop, monitor, and maintain project schedules and budgets.
  • Coordinate with Owners, Architects, Engineers, General Contractors, Detailers, and Field Crews to ensure accuracy and completeness of construction documents.
  • Lead and direct project teams to maintain high standards of quality and performance.
  • Maintain detailed and organized project documentation.
  • Identify, manage, and process change orders while maintaining clear communication with customers.
  • Oversee monthly billing and ensure accurate financial tracking for assigned projects.
  • Provide regular project updates and reporting to company leadership.
  • Partner with field supervisory personnel to achieve both corporate and project-specific goals.
  • Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Construction Technology, Civil Engineering, or related field preferred; equivalent steel erection and Ironworker leadership experience considered.
  • Minimum of 5 years of project management experience focused on structural and miscellaneous steel erection.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Proven ability to manage schedules, budgets, risk, and multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
