Northedge Steel is a growing steel building manufacturer focused on quality, efficiency, safety, and teamwork. We are looking for dependable and hardworking individuals to join our production team as General Laborers.

This is a hands-on position that supports various areas of our manufacturing operation. The ideal candidate is reliable, safety-minded, willing to learn, and comfortable working in a fast-paced shop environment.

What You'll Do

As a General Laborer, you may assist with a variety of production, warehouse, and material-handling tasks based on the needs of the shop.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Assist with general production and manufacturing activities.
  • Load, unload, move, and organize steel, materials, parts, and finished products.
  • Assist machine operators, welders, and other production team members as needed.
  • Prepare materials for production, fabrication, or shipment.
  • Measure, count, sort, stack, and organize materials.
  • Use basic hand and power tools when trained and authorized.
  • Maintain clean and organized work areas.
  • Remove scrap material and maintain designated disposal areas.
  • Assist with loading and preparing customer orders or shipments.
  • Follow production instructions and communicate questions or issues to supervisors.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Inspect materials for obvious damage or quality concerns and report issues to a supervisor.
  • Perform other production, warehouse, or general labor duties as assigned.

  • Comfortable performing physical work throughout the shift.
  • Previous manufacturing, construction, warehouse, steel, or general labor experience is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers.
  • Willingness to learn different areas of the production operation.

Physical Requirements

This position requires regular physical activity in a manufacturing environment. Employees must be able to:

  • Stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Bend, reach, push, pull, and perform repetitive movements.
  • Safely lift and move materials consistent with the requirements of the position, with assistance or equipment when appropriate.
  • Work around machinery, steel products, noise, dust, and changing temperatures.
  • Wear required PPE, including safety glasses and other equipment as required for the assigned work area.
