How will you contribute?

You will have the opportunity to work alongside experienced steamfitter journeymen to gain hands-on steamfitting knowledge. Steamfitters install, repair, and maintain pipe systems that carry water, steam, compressed air, liquids, and gases required for processing, manufacturing, heating, and cooling. This position is an entry-level union position that provides an excellent pathway to a 5-year apprenticeship, where you will be trained to become a steamfitter journeyman. You will show your attention to detail while installing hangers, material handling, and maintaining jobsite organization.

What you need to qualify:

Steamfitter pre-apprentice applicants must be at least 18 years old, have a high school diploma or its equivalent, have a clean driving record to operate company vehicles and pass an appropriate aptitude test and drug screen. Prior construction experience, welding, and brazing skills are a plus. This job entails a great deal of lifting and climbing. Successful candidates must be self-motivated, possess a strong mechanical background, have a positive working and learning attitude, and be able to work effectively in both fast-paced construction environments, both indoors and outdoors. Dependability and working well as a member of the construction team is essential.
