Job description

JOB TITLE: REFRIGERATION MASTER-LEVEL 4
DUTY DAYS: 240
PAY GRADE: N07-51
PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Responsible for the repair, maintenance, and installation of commercial refrigeration, coolers, and building automation systems.
QUALIFICATIONS:
             Certification/Education:









  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Have a valid Texas Driver's License and meet/maintain the insurance requirements of PISD.
  • Must pass an initial drug test and be part of a random drug testing program
  • Must pass a criminal history check.

 
              Special Knowledge/ Skills/Experience      

  • Knowledge and developed skills in all phases of refrigeration installation and repair.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair various kitchen equipment (coolers, freezers, warmers, ovens, steamers, etc.)
  • Knowledge of service techniques for heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration.
  • Ability to read blueprints and interpret diagrams.
  • Skilled in the maintenance and use of the trade's tools, equipment, and materials.
  • EPA required
  • 5 years' experience in the related field preferred

 
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
 

  • Diagnose, maintain, and repair malfunctions in refrigeration systems, ice machines, heating, and air conditioning systems, and kitchen equipment (coolers, freezers, warmers, ovens, steamers, etc.)
  • Installs and repairs refrigeration systems.
  • Knowledge of electrical principles and the repair, maintenance, and installation techniques of kitchen and refrigeration equipment.
  • Ability to assist HVAC in the installation of components for new heating and air conditioning systems.
  • Perform troubleshooting procedures and repairs.
  • Participates in the preparation of cost estimates, material orders, and records maintenance.
  • Must have a working knowledge of computer systems regarding email, tickets, and time entry systems.
  • Must be willing to respond to occasional after-hours emergencies
  • Assist other crafts as needed
  • Performs other duties as directed

Ability to communicate effectively (verbal); maintain emotional control under stress; interpret policy, procedures, and data; coordinate district functions
            Physical Demands/Environment Factors:
Strenuous walking, standing, climbing, and heavy lifting must have use of all faculties. Must be able to work from ladders and elevated platforms. Work outside. Exposure to hot and cold temperatures. Exposure to dust, toxic chemicals, and materials. May work on slippery and uneven surfaces.
