Job description

Job Title: Boiler Mechanic
Location: Hillsboro, OR 97124
Duration: Temp to Perm
Pay Rate: $45.00 - $50.00/hr on W2

Shift: Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Key Requirements
  • Oregon Boiler License (Required)
  • Class 3 Building Service Mechanic License (Required for consideration)
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in boiler operation, maintenance, and repair of hydronic and steam HVAC systems
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • High School Diploma or GED
Responsibilities
  • Diagnose, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on boiler systems, including hydronic, steam, and hot water heating systems.
  • Maintain boiler systems in compliance with ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code requirements.
  • Troubleshoot and repair boilers, heat exchangers, pumps, valves, air handlers, heating coils, controls, and related equipment.
  • Monitor and maintain fuel lines, boiler controls, glycol and steam lines.
  • Commission and start up new equipment.
  • Respond to emergency service calls as needed, including after-hours support.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, labor hours, and material usage documentation.
  • Interpret blueprints, schematics, manuals, and technical specifications.
  • Follow and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Work collaboratively with other departments to complete maintenance projects.
  • Utilize computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and maintenance tracking applications.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental, safety, health, and quality standards.
Required Skills
  • Strong knowledge of commercial and industrial boiler systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret drawings, schematics, specifications, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Experience with LOTO procedures, confined space safety, risk assessments, and PPE requirements.
  • Strong troubleshooting, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Computer proficiency and ability to learn maintenance tracking software.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certificate in Steam Boiler Operation/Maintenance.
  • ASSE 19210 Hydronic Heating & Cooling Certification.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience with Maximo or other CMMS platforms.
