SUMMARY:

The SAP Billing Systems and Transformation Manager provides strategic leadership and direction for DHL eCommerce Americas' SAP billing landscape, ensuring the systems, processes, and teams collectively enable the company's business and financial objectives.

This role is pivotal to realizing DHL eCommerce Americas' BRIM vision - empowering the business to "collect what we deserve" through a highly flexible, automated, and reliable rating and billing platform.

The manager will lead the regional migration from the legacy SAP R/3 ECC6 SD billing platform to the modern SAP BRIM (Billing and Revenue Innovation Management) platform, acting as the primary liaison between country business functions, the global SAP organization, and implementation partners. They will oversee the full BRIM program lifecycle - from exploration and design through development, testing, deployment, and rollout - ensuring all billing processes remain accurate, compliant, and efficient throughout the transition.

The manager will own the operational health of the billing ecosystem - overseeing daily/weekly billing cycles, system performance, inbound and outbound billing interfaces and change management - while leading a small, high-performing team of SAP functional and technical experts to continuously improve reliability, scalability, and business value.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • SAP BRIM Migration Leadership

  • Lead all phases of DHL eCommerce Americas' SAP BRIM migration initiative - including planning, design, build, testing, deployment, and post-go-live stabilization.

  • Act as the primary regional contact for global SAP teams and external implementation partners, ensuring alignment with global templates and governance standards.

  • Translate complex business requirements into technical deliverables that align with BRIM's Subscription Order Management (SOM), Convergent Mediation (CM), Convergent Charging (CC), Convergent Invoicing (CI), and FICA modules.

  • Oversee data migration strategy from SAP SD to BRIM platform, ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and compliance.

  • Plan and execute the customer migration strategy from SAP SD to BRIM platform to ensure seamless go-live and business continuity

  • Drive cross-functional coordination across Finance, Billing Operations, Customer Service, Commercial, and Inbound Systems teams.

  • Operational Management

  • Manage daily and weekly billing cycles, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and timeliness of customer invoices.

  • Oversee the performance, health, and availability of the billing system, coordinate with global teams for patch management, upgrades, and performance tuning.

  • Ensure adherence to SLAs for issue resolution, system availability, and change request turnaround.

  • Maintain detailed system and process documentation, including architecture, configuration, and business logic.

  • Establish strong monitoring and reconciliation processes to ensure end-to-end accuracy from transaction to invoice to cash collection.

  • Team & Project Management

  • Collaborate with, manage and mentor a small team of SAP developers responsible for ongoing system development and support.

  • Lead project planning, estimation, resource allocation, and tracking to ensure deliverables are completed on time and within budget.

  • Provide regular project status reports and risk assessments to stakeholders and senior management.

  • Coordinate and support user acceptance testing, business sign-off, and production cutovers.

  • Promote proactive communication and change-management practices to minimize business disruption during system transitions.

  • Continuous Improvement & Governance

  • Evaluate and recommend process or system improvements aligned with DHL's digital transformation and automation objectives.

  • Ensure consistent documentation of business requirements, solution design, and test cases.

  • Enforce adherence to IT change-control policies, audit requirements, and security protocols.

  • Partner with finance leadership to align billing performance with financial KPIs and audit standards.

  • Stay current with SAP S/4HANA and BRIM roadmap updates, advocating for future-ready billing capabilities.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, business, engineering or related field of study

  • 8+ years of progressive SAP experience with at least 3-5 years in SAP BRIM or Subscription Billing environments.

  • Proven experience leading large-scale SAP migration or greenfield implementation projects (preferably SAP BRIM, S/4HANA Finance, or similar enterprise billing solutions).

  • Strong understanding of SAP BRIM architecture and sub-modules - SOM, CI, and FICA - and their integration with FI/CO, SD, and upstream data systems.

  • Experience working in a global enterprise environment with matrixed stakeholders and external SAP consulting partners.

  • Previous exposure to subscription-based or high-volume transaction industries such as logistics, telecom, utilities, or SaaS preferred.

REQUIREMENTS/SKILLS:

  • Deep functional knowledge of SAP billing processes, revenue accounting, and financial reconciliation.

  • Hands-on experience in SAP BRIM configuration, testing, and integration with external systems.

  • Excellent project management, stakeholder communication, and vendor coordination skills.

  • Strong leadership ability to manage cross-functional teams and drive accountability.

  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret both business and technical requirements.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence across organizational levels.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to perform under pressure in dynamic business environments.

  • Experience in managing service delivery SLAs, defect triage, and release management.

  • Knowledge of SAP Activate methodology, Solution Manager/ALM tools, and Agile project practices is a plus.
