As a Marketing Analyst Intern for Delta Dental of Iowa, you will work alongside our talented Marketing team to help turn data into actionable insights. This is an opportunity to analyze marketing campaigns, improve tools, and automate processes while gaining skills in report building, model development, and researching new analytics techniques to support and enhance the Marketing teams' efforts. 


Here is your chance to apply what you've learned in the classroom with meaningful work, network with fellow interns, and grow your data analytics/marketing career all while making a difference in our community. 


This temporary, full-time internship will start on May 19, 2027, and work from our Johnston, Iowa location. Hours will be Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.

Learning Objectives:

  • Learn how to analyze marketing campaigns and review results using Power BI to look for successes and opportunities. 
  • Understand programming and model development.
  • Develop new reporting tools using programming languages such as Python, SQL and VBA.
  • Research new analytic developments. 
  • Build macros to automate processes.
  • Improve current marketing tools for analytics and building campaign lists.
  • Assist Marketing team with reviewing projects, sharing ideas, and enhancing tools.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external teams.
  • Complete special projects on time with high quality.
  • Engage in programs and networking opportunities to strengthen business acumen in the insurance industry. 
  • Support internship program by motivating and driving participation among intern peers to fully engage with opportunities available throughout the summer.
  • Represent Delta Dental of Iowa as well as the other Delta Dental companies in a professional manner both internally and externally.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Required: 

  1. Must be an undergraduate student working toward a bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Analytics or related fields.
  2. Must be able to demonstrate a current 3.0 GPA or higher through transcripts.
  3. Must be registered as a student to a college or university.
  4. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  5. Coursework in business, statistics, research, marketing, mathematics, or related field is required.
  6. Excellent written and verbal communication as well as presentation skills required.
  7. Participants will be required to submit a written analysis of project work and present a summary of analysis to leadership at the end of the program.
  8. Freshman and Sophomore candidates will participate in the Insure Your Future program with specific leadership      development/networking opportunities.

Preferred: 

1. Experience with Python and SQL. 

2. Knowledge of Power BI.
