Job description
The Quantitative Analyst partners closely with stakeholders to understand requirements and develop relevant, actionable business intelligence products that support business monitoring and decision-making.
This role owns defined analytical workstreams end-to-end, builds and validates models, analyzes large datasets, and translates findings into actionable recommendations for product, finance, operations, and technology partners.
Success in this role requires strong technical execution using GenAI and business analytics tools, sound judgment, clear communication, disciplined documentation, and the ability to connect analytical outputs to measurable business outcomes. Applies GenAI tools to quickly orient to and contribute across new work within the supported business unit.
The position emphasizes reproducible workflows, stakeholder alignment, and governance to ensure analytic solutions are reliable, scalable, and decision-ready.
Essential Job Skills/Duties
- Own defined analytical workstreams end-to-end, from problem framing through data product delivery.
- Develop, validate, and maintain quantitative models and analytical approaches.
- Analyze complex, high-volume datasets to identify trends, risks, opportunities, and performance drivers.
- Build reproducible datasets, visualizations, dashboards, and reporting assets that support ongoing monitoring and decisions.
- Prepare clear model documentation, analytical summaries, and governance artifacts.
- Collaborate with product, finance, operations, engineering, and technology stakeholders to align analytical work with business priorities under leadership oversight.
- Proactively manage moderate ambiguity within defined workstreams and resolve blockers with the assigned leader to maintain momentum.
- Contribute to shared analytical standards, documentation, knowledge transfer, and team effectiveness.
- Approach daily tasks with an AI-first mindset and use approved tools such as Cursor, ChatGPT, and Claude across research, analysis, synthesis, documentation, and workflow acceleration, while validating outputs and applying sound judgment.
Required Technical Skills
- Business Acumen: Invest in understanding the supported business unit's operations to enable requirements gathering, anticipate needs, and connect analytical findings to defined business objectives, KPIs, and decision points.
- Business Intelligence Technologies: Build dashboards, visualizations, and recurring reporting assets, leveraging GenAI tools to support ongoing business monitoring and alerting.
- Data Collection and Manipulation: Develop complex database queries and review GenAI-generated queries.
- Data Storytelling: Craft narratives that link analysis to business impact and recommended actions.
- Data Modeling: In partnership with data engineers, contribute to designing reliable, scalable structured datasets that support repeatable analysis and reporting.
- Metadata Management: Maintain metadata and documentation standards to support traceable, reproducible analysis.
- Analytical Governance: Follow documentation, validation, and governance/change management standards for scalable decision support.
- Statistical Analysis: Apply appropriate statistical methods to validate hypotheses, identify trends, and assess uncertainty.
- GenAI Application: For all analytic workstreams and administrative tasks, adopt an AI-first approach using approved AI tools to improve analytical efficiency, insight generation, synthesis, and workflow speed while validating assumptions, outputs, and business applicability. Understand where human judgment, peer consultation, governance, and cross-functional decision-making remain essential.
Required Soft/Leadership Skills
- Communicate complex analytical concepts clearly to technical and non-technical audiences and adjust technical depth for the audience as needed.
- Frame problems, define hypotheses, and structure analytical approaches effectively.
- Build strong cross-functional partnerships and manage stakeholder expectations proactively.
- Prioritize competing analytical requests and deliver against deadlines with leader guidance and oversight.
- Operate effectively within moderate ambiguity and adapt as requirements evolve.
- Maintain high standards of quality, integrity, ownership, and accountability.
- Contribute to team effectiveness through knowledge sharing, collaboration, and informal mentoring.
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in MIS or a quantitative discipline (e.g., Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Statistics, Systems Engineering, Mathematics)
- 2-5 years of experience in a similar role with a proven track record of increasing responsibility and demonstrated success
Travel Requirements
- Occasional local and overnight travel for meetings or workshops.
- Up to 10 percent travel.
- On-site attendance required a minimum of 3 days per week.
- Frequently stationary.
