The
Merchandise Data Analyst provides a statistical and financial foundation for merchandising decisions and consults other departments on merchandising practices and tactics. They provide and manage the data for product review process, location acquisitions and act as category management advisors for companywide initiatives. In addition to tracking sales performance, and team objectives, they monitor part type categories to ensure profitability objectives are met. This position is a key member of a growing and passionate group focused on collaborating across the business to drive forward key programs and projects across the Fisher Auto Parts chain.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Solving problems through data analysis and reporting.
- Consulting with Product Directors on business decisions to provide a statistical and financial foundation.
- Querying tables to extract data necessary to perform analysis.
- Analyzing electronic catalog data in ACES and PIES format to determine coverage gaps/opportunities
- Able to communicate and work cross-functionally with team members.
- Develop strong partnerships with business management teams and participate in category planning meetings.
- Demonstrate consistent attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Ability to translate complex business processes and data into an easily understandable format.
- Grow knowledge and stay abreast of developments in the automotive aftermarket and competitor trends.
- Complete all duties as assigned.
Requirements
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- A Bachelor's degree (BA, BS) or equivalent in Business Administration, Statistics, Engineering, or comparable field.
- Must possess and maintain a valid and current driver's license;
- Successfully complete a pre-employment drug test;
- Maintain acceptable attendance;
- Acknowledgement of and adherence to all Company policies and procedures as contained within the Fisher Auto Parts Employee and Driver's Handbooks.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, DUTIES, AND ABILITIES:
- Automotive aftermarket experience is a plus.
- Three to five years of experience in Business Administration, Statistics, Engineering or programming business applications.
- Intermediate to Advanced Excel Skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Two to four years of experience writing complex SQL statements
- Two to four years of experience writing Python scripts
- Experience with BI tools such as Amazon QuickSight is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail, planning and organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Be dependable, trustworthy, display a professional attitude, and complete all assigned work within given deadlines.
- Must be able to take initiative and be self-sufficient while working independently with minimal supervision.
