Job description

As a Quality Engineer, you ensure the highest quality products/rigid plastic containers are produced at Plastipak's Champaign, IL site. You play an integral role is assuring customer satisfaction by measuring processes, verifying requirements are met, analyzing data, educating Associates and leading continuous improvement activities within the facility.
You Will
  • Analyze statistical process control data to understand process variation, initiate corrective actions when necessary and follow through to validate implementation.
  • Utilize statistical and analytical tools, as well as sample procedures, to measure process and product specification conformance and validate process conformance is maintained.
  • Visit customer facilities to conduct health check meetings and maintain positive customer relationships.
  • Develop and deliver training on quality control to Associates.
  • Participate in cross-functional continuous improvement initiatives.

You Have
  • Associates or Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 1 year of experience working in a manufacturing environment; through full-time, internship, or co-op experience.
  • Strong understanding of basic SPC (Statistical Process Control) analysis.
  • Capability to interpret control charts (i.e. histograms, Pareto charts, X-MR, X-Bar/R charts, etc.).
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams in root cause investigations and continuous improvement activities
