The role requires regular onsite presence to fulfill essential job responsibilities. Shift 6: nights backend 6PMโ€‘6AM Wedโ€‘Fri and alternating Saturday night.

Responsibilities
  • Develop assembly processes and/or equipment and apply novel concepts that enable Intelโ€™s roadmap of future assembly packaging platform technologies.
  • Optimize and improve the efficiency of manufacturing packages to meet quality, reliability, cost, yield, productivity and manufacturability requirements.
  • Develop process and equipment specifications applying principles of design of experiments and data analysis; document improvements through white papers.
  • Develop and maintain equipment to evaluate silicon and package technologies under simulated fieldโ€‘use conditions such as heat, humidity, temperature cycle, and dynamic forces.
  • Ensure manufacturability of the physical layout of package designs and oversee the cycle of manufactured package processes, procedures, and flows.
  • Establish material specifications for contract assemblers and rawโ€‘material vendors; interface with supplier quality and procurement teams to ensure material quality and vendor performance meet process specifications and existing product qualification methods.
  • Develop new techniques, acceleration methods, tools, and quality screens that enable early identification of potential problems with packaging quality and reliability.
  • Set reliability requirements to meet customer needs and influence design, material selection and process development based on a fundamental understanding of failure mechanisms.
  • Lead efforts to innovate, problemโ€‘solve, and continuously improve equipment and processes using experimental design and statistical methods.
  • Provide consultation concerning packaging problems and improvements, and respond to customer/client requests or events as they occur.
  • Deliver standardization in product qualification, manufacturing quality systems, and methods; continuously engage with packaging technology development and partner engineering groups on process/technology maturity for products toward key risk areas in meeting product milestones.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a STEMโ€‘related field.
  • At least 1year of manufacturing or engineering experience.
  • Minimum of 6 months of experience with Statistical Process Control (SPC) and/or Design of Experiments (DOE) principles.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Masterโ€™s degree in a related field.
  • Experience in a technology manufacturing environment.
  • Semiconductor packaging process experience.
