PSE's Communications & Marketing team is looking for qualified candidates to fill an open Marketing Data Scientist position!

Job Description

PSE’s Communications Strategy team is looking for a Marketing Data Scientist to lead the development, measurement, and optimization of marketing, customer engagement, and communications performance through advanced analytics, data science, and business intelligence. This role integrates marketing strategy with data-driven insights to support companywide marketing efforts and corporate priorities. The most successful candidate will be able to use storytelling to present data to internal and external stakeholders, translate data into actionable items, and move data between multiple sources and programs. 

The responsibilities of this role combine statistical analysis, machine learning, and business analytics to evaluate campaign performance, forecast customer behavior, and optimize marketing effectiveness. Additionally they develop production-quality models, dashboards, and reporting frameworks that enable data-driven decision-making across marketing and customer experience functions.

The Marketing Data Scientist will need to partner cross-functionally with marketing, customer insights, analytics, regulatory, and external agencies to deliver actionable insights that improve engagement, enhance customer experience, and support corporate goals.

Job Responsibilities
  • Lead performance tracking and reporting for marketing campaigns and customer engagement programs.
  • Design and manage KPIs to evaluate marketing effectiveness.
  • Develop machine learning models to predict customer behavior and optimize marketing outcomes.
  • Perform data mining and advanced analytics on large datasets.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and reporting frameworks.
  • Translate data into actionable insights for stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and agencies to optimize customer marketing and communications campaigns.
  • Apply process improvement methodologies to marketing operations.
  • Experience with ETL (extract, transform, load) process and application.
  • Perform analysis and present results in a clear manner.
  • Enhance data collection procedures to include information that is relevant for building user solutions by processing, cleansing, and verifying the integrity of data used for analysis.
  • Communicates and collaborates across groups to provide insights to the organization.
  • Data mining using state-of-the-art methods.
  • Perform ad-hoc analysis and present results in a clear manner.
  • Implement new statistical or other mathematical methodologies as needed for specific models or analysis.
  • Optimize joint development efforts through appropriate database use and project design.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, mathematics, statistics, economics, finance, Data Science or other relevant quantitative field; or equivalent experience.
  • At least one year experience in applying quantitative methods and building production quality machine learning models in a classroom, or laboratory setting.
  • Undergraduate degrees in Data Science satisfy the one year experience requirement.
  • Proficiency with Python or R.
  • Strong working knowledge of SQL.
  • Experience with visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI.
  • Ability to synthesize large quantities of statistical data and complex analyses into actionable information.
  • Ability to collaborate and participate in direct data science and data management projects and project teams.
  • Familiar with all categories of security and regulated data and information.
Desired Qualifications
  • Graduate degree in quantitative field.
  • Experience with working with AWS, Azure or other cloud-based platforms.
  • Experience supporting marketing, digital communications, customer engagement, or brand reputation initiatives through data analysis and performance
  • Knowledge of marketing analytics methodologies including campaign attribution, customer segmentation, A/B testing, engagement scoring, and conversion
  • Strong understanding of data storytelling and presentation techniques for marketing and executive audiences
  • Experience working with SAP data.
  • Natural curiosity and desire to learn, a passion for solving real world problems.
  • Demonstrable track record of dealing well with ambiguity, prioritizing needs, and delivering results in a dynamic environment.

The pay range for this position is $103,100.00 - $181,300.00, and this position is eligible for annual goals based incentive bonuses.
