Job description

SUMMARY:
The Adoption Recruitment Specialist is responsible for the oversight and implementation of Adoption Recruitment needs for the Community Based Care Adoption Department in Desoto, Sarasota, and Manatee counties.
This role specializes in recruiting families for children available for adoption, completing adoption home studies, facilitating match meetings, training prospective adoptive families, planning, organizing, and leading adoption recruitment events to support successful permanency outcomes.
This role requires a flexible work schedule, including the ability to work some weekends and provide after-hours training/match meeting opportunities to prospective adoptive families.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Recruitment responsibilities for unmatched children, and tracking families contacted and matched, and keeping a public log on the main adoption drive current.
  • Coordinates tracking of weekly calls and emails for applicants interested in adoption informational meetings and adoptions classes.
  • Provides individual Information Sessions (in person, phone, or online) and conducts the initial assessment of the family.
  • Conduct the Adoptive Home Studies for the families that successfully complete APTC.
  • Faciltate Match Meetings with prospective adoptive families.
  • Maintain and update the Adoption Family Match system and adoption waiting family files.
  • Process requests for and assists with Adoptions celebrations, Adoption Day, and all Adoption related recruitment activities.
  • Meet regularly with Adoption Specialist teams to review children available for adoption and coordinate targeted recruitment efforts.
  • Attends statewide recruitment calls and meetings for our children available for adoption.
  • Maintain the Selfless Love Foundation partnership and grant requirements, including managing and tracking grant funding for events and recruitment tools, as well as participating in monthly collaboration meetings with their team
  • Serve as backup Staffing Specialist, supporting adoption staffing team, MDTs, and other required meetings.
  • Maintain all duties required on Primary assignments as an Adoption Specialist if needed. Including but not limited to, being responsible for implementing case management and service delivery to children eligible for adoption by completing referrals, court judicial review reports, attending staffing's, MDT's, home visits, field visits and court hearings.
  • Participate in the Quality Improvement reviews.
  • Monitor and maintain Florida statewide adoption exchange website.

Salary range -$55,000.00
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in human science or related field. Minimum of three years' child welfare experience.
  • Florida Child Welfare Case Manager Certification achieved and maintained.

Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations: This position requires the following credentials:
  • Florida Child Welfare Case Manager Certification achieved and maintained.
  • Possess valid Florida Driver's License in good standing and be insurable by the agency's current insurance carrier. Must meet state criminal background check requirements. Ability to work a flexible schedule.
