What You’ll Do:
  • Take client trial balances and enter them into the firm’s financial statement software to begin engagements
  • Prepare complete financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, cash flow statements, statements of equity, and related footnotes
  • Perform inquiry, analytical procedures, transaction testing, confirmations, and other procedures for audits, reviews, and compilations
  • Analyze financial results for unusual changes or variances and research the underlying causes
  • Work directly with management, controllers, and business owners to obtain supporting documentation and resolve questions
  • Review attestation workpapers prepared by associates and provide guidance throughout engagements
  • Test internal controls and lead walkthroughs to develop an understanding of client processes and financial reporting controls
  • Carry engagements through completion and prepare final financial statements for banks, bonding companies, boards, and other third-party users
  • Answer client questions regarding completed financial statements, debt ratios, and loan covenant requirements
  • Assist with tax return preparation and other accounting projects as workload allows
Qualifications & Requirements:
  • 3–5+ years of public accounting experience at the Senior Accountant level
  • Hands-on experience preparing complete financial statements
  • Experience with audits, reviews, and compilations
  • Experience performing inquiry and analytical procedures
  • Ability to supervise and review attestation workpapers prepared by associates
  • Experience requesting and evaluating supporting documentation from clients
  • Understanding of internal controls, including testing controls and leading walkthroughs
  • Ability to independently research financial questions and communicate directly with clients
  • Construction and/or agriculture industry experience is preferred, but not required
Benefits:
  • Excellent healthcare coverage and rates

  • Friday’s off in the summer
  • Great flexibility and paid time off
Your New Employer
Join a well-established Omaha CPA firm that offers the variety and professional exposure of public accounting without the feel of a large, highly structured firm. You’ll work closely with experienced partners, build direct relationships with business owners and financial leaders, and gain meaningful exposure across audit, review, compilation, and tax work. The firm serves a diverse client base, with particularly strong experience in industries such as construction and agriculture, giving you the opportunity to become a trusted advisor rather than simply completing one piece of an engagement.
