Performs skilled welding and repair work on cylinders, trailers, and other equipment to ensure their safe and efficient operation within Airgas USA, LLC.
  • Performs various welding processes (e.g., MIG, TIG, Stick) to repair and fabricate metal components on industrial gas cylinders, tube trailers, cryogenic tanks, and other company assets.
  • Travels to customer sites to troubleshoot and make necessary repairs and/or perform routine maintenance and NIST traceable calibration on all types of Airgas equipment and products.
  • Will travel up to 75% of the time with some over nights as needed
  • Conducts visual inspections and pressure tests on repaired equipment to ensure compliance with company standards, DOT regulations, and industry codes.
  • Troubleshoots and diagnoses issues with equipment, determining the most effective repair methods.
  • Performs preventative maintenance on welding equipment and related tools.
  • Maintains accurate records of all repairs, maintenance performed, and materials used.
  • Adheres to all safety protocols, including wearing appropriate PPE and following lockout/tagout procedures.
  • Collaborates with other technicians and supervisors to optimize repair processes and minimize downtime.
  • Operates forklifts and other material handling equipment as needed.
  • May assist with general facility maintenance and upkeep.

Are you a MATCH?
Required Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and a minimum of 2 years electrical and/or electronic experience or training or equivalent.
  • Candidates must have valid employment authorization in the U.S. and must not require visa sponsorship now or in the future. This position is not open for non-immigrant visa sponsorship.
  • Must have good computer skills and have good attention to detail.
  • Valid state driver's license with a good driving record.
  • All assigned and required Vendor/Manufacturer Warranty Training must be maintained and kept up to date.
  • Attends all assigned career development training and passes all qualifying assessments within 60 days of assignment.
  • Ability to participate and maintain customers' safety credentials to be able to enter the assigned sites.
  • Must have the ability to read and comprehend all written and computer generated document.
  • The ability to occasionally move more than 125 pounds with the aid of material handling equipment. Must be able to work inside and outside in temperatures ranging from 10 to 110 degrees is required.
  • Must be able to travel of 75% with overnight stays as needed.

  • Prior calibration experience
  • Prior welding machine and equipment repair experience
