COMMENSURATE WITH EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE. ALL NEW HIRES ARE SUBJECT TO A ONE-YEAR PROBATIONARY PERIOD

Job Description:

Campus: Americus

General Duties:

Perform all teaching duties and demonstrate competencies, knowledge and skills in Welding program courses. Will be responsible for evaluation of student performance, progress, and procedural competencies. Possess strong written and verbal communication skills. Instructor is required to: Stay current in subject matter through professional development/training; Plan and organize instruction in the ways that maximize student learning; Ability to teach classes in Welding Program in local high schools and on campus; Serve on college, divisional and program committees; Participate in meetings and events as required; Contribute to program and decision curriculum development processes; Recruitment and marketing of program; Be student-oriented and customer-friendly; Perform other duties as assigned.

Education Requirements:

Diploma in Welding from a regionally accredited college or university or some college or specialized training in welding *and* five (5) years within the last seven (7) year's work experience in the Welding field.

Minimum Qualifications:

The candidate must have great interpersonal and communication skills. Proficient in the use of computer applications, highly organized.

Preferred Qualifications:

Post-secondary teaching experience. Current American Welding Society Certification strongly preferred.

Compensation:

Full-time position. Salary commensurate with education and experience.

Physical Demands:

Work is typically performed in a classroom/lab environment with he employee intermittently sitting, standing, walking, bending, pushing, and pulling for thee (3) - four (4) hours continuous hours at a time. The employee frequently lifts lightweight objects up to 50 lbs. The work is performed in campus buildings and outdoors where the employee is occasionally exposed to cold or inclement weather. The exposure to dirt, dust grease, machinery with moving parts, chemicals, and fumes is possible in the laboratory environment. The ability o speak clearly is required. The ability to hear r and understand at a normal conversational level is required.

Availability

Must be able to work flexible schedule, based on class times, including some evening and weekend assignments. Some travel may be required to off-sites of the college.
