Hours: Monday - Thursday 2:00 pm - 12:30 am
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Applies paint or powder to the surfaces of machines, manufactured products with protective or decorative material such as solvent or water based paint, powder, or lacquer by performing the following duties,
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
** Cleans grease and dirt from product.
** Applies masking tape over parts and areas that are not to be coated.
** Fills cavities and dents with putty to attain smooth surface.
** Selects and mixes coating liquid to produce desired color.
** Pours coating liquid into spray container and connects gun to airhose.
** Turns sprayer valves and nozzle to regulate width and pressure of spray.
** Pulls trigger and directs spray onto work surface to apply prime or finish coat.
** Coats areas inaccessible to hand sprayer with brush.
** Cleans spraying equipment and brushes with solvent.
** Cures paint or powder in an oven.
** Removes rust from metal with acid, wire brush, or steel wool.
** Clean working area after completing tasks in that area.
** Carry out other duties as necessary to perform function within state and federal regulations.
Requirements
Position Qualifications
• High School Diploma or GED required .
• 3 - 5 years of experience in similar position required.
• Experience in powder coating, painting, finishing, or manufacturing environments preferred.
• Desire to work in the finishing industry.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
• Understanding of powder coating processes and application techniques.
• Knowledge of surface preparation methods such as cleaning, masking, and sandblasting.
• Ability to read work orders, production schedules, and basic technical drawings.
• Understanding of coating thickness requirements and quality standards.
• Ability to read and write routine correspondence. Ability to communicate effectively with staff and other individuals.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to maintain confidential information. Performs duties in a professional manner, maintaining the high quality of workmanship.

• Ability to walk, bend, reach, and twist frequently throughout the day.
• Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time.
• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing up to 50 pounds (or specify your range).

• Ability to grip, grasp, and handle small components as part of production tasks.
• Ability to climb stairs or ladders and work at heights as needed.
• Ability to handle vibrating tools or machinery.
• Ability to crouch, kneel, stoop, or work in confined spaces periodically.
• Ability to tolerate exposure to dust, noise, vibration, fumes, and changing weather conditions.
• Ability to maintain alertness and concentration for extended periods while operating machinery.
• Work in an environment with moderate to high noise, moving equipment, and fluctuating temperatures.
• Ability to see, hear, and speak effectively to communicate and respond to equipment alerts and alarms. Visually inspect parts and equipment and respond to safety alarms or signals.
• Must be able to comfortably perform physical tasks associated with the role, ensuring a safe and productive work environment.
