Job description

Job Title: Part-Time Painter/Maintenance Technician

Position Summary:

This position is part-time with a primary focus on painting and finishing work, with the secondary ability to perform basic facility maintenance tasks as needed.  The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can work independently without hands-on supervision. This role requires the ability to organize multiple requests, exhibit strong time management, and assess and prioritize tasks.

Essential Functions

Painting and Finishing (Primary Duties)

  1. Perform interior and exterior painting, including surface preparation, priming, and finish coats
  2. Perform drywall patching and preparation prior to painting.
  3. Conduct pressure washing of buildings, walkways, and exterior surfaces
  4. Ensure clean, professional results consistent with quality and safety standards.

General Maintenance (Secondary Duties)

  1. Perform general cleaning and upkeep of buildings and properties, including ground maintenance.
  2. Perform grass cutting and weeding or multiple yards and properties.
  3. Safely operate and maintain various hand tools and power tools.
  4. Perform other duties needed to help drive our vision, and fulfill our mission, that “The poor should never be treated poorly.”

Education/Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent-REQUIRED
  • (1) one year painting experience-REQUIRED

Physical Requirements

  1. Ability to lift, carry, push and pull objects up to 30 pounds regularly.
  2. Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, and climb for extended periods.
  3. Ability to work in varied environmental conditions, including outdoors in heat and cold.
  4. Ability to work at heights using ladders and scaffolding
  5. Willingness to consent to and pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
  6. Provide appropriate documents to complete the I-9 requirement.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Demonstrated painting skills including surface preparation and finish work
  • Dependable, cooperative. And able to work independently.
  • Ability to differentiate between what can be done in-house, and what will need to be done by a contractor.
  • General concern for the poor and sick and sensitivity to their need for dignity and respect.

Employment Requirements

  • Willingness to consent to and the ability to pass a criminal background check, and drug screening.
  • Provide appropriate documents to complete the I-9 requirement.
