What is a state internship?

State internships are temporary positions offered by state government agencies to students or recent graduates. These internships provide hands-on experience in various fields such as public administration, law, health, and engineering, allowing participants to gain insight into how state government operates. Interns often work on projects, assist with research, or support day-to-day operations, helping them develop professional skills and build networks for future employment. State internships can be paid or unpaid and may lead to full-time opportunities within government agencies.

What types of projects and responsibilities can I expect during a state internship?

As a state intern, you can expect to work on a variety of projects that support public sector operations, such as assisting with research, organizing data, preparing reports, and participating in community outreach initiatives. Daily tasks often involve collaborating with full-time staff, attending meetings, and contributing to ongoing departmental efforts. The specific responsibilities vary by agency, but interns are typically given meaningful assignments that provide insight into government processes and help build professional skills. This hands-on experience is designed to prepare you for future employment in public service or related fields.

To thrive as a State Intern, you generally need a strong academic background, attention to detail, and an interest in public service or government operations. Job description

Your impact on the world begins here. Evonik is the right place to make a difference. We are seeking innovative, self-starters to join our team. We offer you the opportunity to spend the summer at one of our sites in North America to work on meaningful and practical projects and network with professionals to apply what you are learning in school.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Evonik's Summer Professional Enrichment (SPE) Program is a 12 week internship program that provides undergraduate students an opportunity to gain real-world experience and expand their knowledge beyond their studies in university. Over the summer, interns will apply skills they've acquired through education to their technical project while also gaining experience working on a cross-functional team for a regional group project. • Research & Development Intern: Engaged in the development of Evonik's Eudragit aqueous dispersion polymer coatings, which are used to provide a protective layer for pills, tablets, and capsules, effectively controlling the release and delivery of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs)
  • Production Engineering Intern: Reviewed and redlined technical drawings for the integration of new flow meter on a centrifuge, ensuring compliance with site engineering standards

By choosing Evonik, you will also have the opportunity to meet executives that are apart of Evonik's North American Leadership Team (NALT), learn more about Evonik's business portfolio and network with your peers through a virtual Let's Connect Series. You can even join an Employee Resource Group at Evonik to connect with like-minded individuals, enhance your professional development, and contribute to a culture of inclusion and innovation that empowers every voice! #earlycareers
