Job Duties

Position contributes to the public safety mission by managing daily activities of Security Supervisors, Corrections Officers and Inmates in an institutional setting. Supervises and monitors staff on assigned shift to ensure a safe, secure, and productive environment. Leads and counsels staff. May coordinate work schedules and assign duty rosters for assigned shift. Contributes to administration of performance management system for staff. Conducts ongoing inspections to maintain, security, sanitation and good order of the institution. Interacts with management, staff, visitors, inmates, and the public to maintain orderly and secure operations.

Minimum Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent. Valid Driver's License. DCJS Certification. Considerable experience in corrections or law enforcement. Experience supervising corrections staff. Working experience planning, scheduling, and/or organizing work to include timekeeping and duty roster management. Experience in reviewing and evaluating records and reports and applying post orders. Demonstrated knowledge of practices and procedures governing security and/or administration. Ability to receive, understand, follow, and give oral and written instructions. Working knowledge in the use of firearms, radio equipment, physical control devices, electric and electronic controls.

Additional Considerations

LEAD Graduate or equivalent applicable experience and/or training. Working experience with evidence-based practices. Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office programs to include outlook.
