Job Description
Perform Vehicle State Inspections, maintenance, Diagnostics and repairs
Department:  Service Technician       
Reports To:  Lead Technician/COO         
FLSA Status:  Non-exempt
Basic Function:
Responsible for the timely completion of assigned repair, warranty and preventative maintenance service on vehicles.
Responsibilities:
    Retrieve customer vehicles into service area for service preparation.
    Review service orders and inspect vehicles accordingly for additional repairs or malfunctions by test driving or troubleshooting vehicle operation.
    Apply technical knowledge to diagnose cause of vehicle malfunctions.
    Obtain final approval prior to performing additional repairs.
    Respond to repair inquiries in a prompt manner.
    Perform repairs and maintenance service work requested in accordance with approved quality and efficiency standards.
    Record actual work completed and time spent on each repair order in an accurate manner.
    Apply knowledge and ability to safely utilize all tools and equipment to include:  -“creeper”  -pneumatic and hand tools   -welding equipment    -vehicle lifts (2&4 post & scissor)  - hydraulic jacks  -diagnostic equipment  -tire mounting/balancing/alignment machines -TPMS
    Purchase, upkeep and store own tools.                                              
    Provide removed cores or parts under warranty for return to manufacturer to the Parts Department.
    Report any problems or discrepancies immediately to management.
    Test-drive and assure proper operation of all vehicles upon completion.
    Complete vehicle inspections according to established procedures.
    Complete service-related notes/recommendations in detail and legible format.
    Maintain technical competence by attending all classes and shop meeting as requested, and reading all service bulletins to maintain needed skills.
    Maintain work area in a clean and orderly manner to meet safety requirements determined by shop and government agencies.
    Discard residual waste or hazardous materials using the proper disposal methods.
    Perform other related duties as assigned.

ASE certified within a year of hire if not already certified.

All of our technicians have inspectors license so not looking for someone to only do inspections, would hire someone if they only wanted to do inspections only but will still need another B or A level tech
