Position Summary

Baptist Health Walker Hospital

RN, Registered Nurse IMC FT Weekend Nights

Responsibilities
  • Provides advanced nursing care for critically ill patients, including complex assessments, high-intensity interventions, and continuous monitoring.
  • Uses clinical judgment and assessment data to anticipate, prioritize, and respond quickly to rapidly changing patient conditions.
  • Operates and interprets specialized medical equipment and monitors, including cardiac, respiratory, and hemodynamic systems.
  • Responds to emergencies with evidence-based, life‑saving interventions and preplanned protocols when physicians are unavailable.
  • Assesses patient needs, develops individualized care plans, evaluates outcomes, and advocates for patients and families.
  • Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams, serves in leadership or educational roles, and supports unit and hospital goals.
  • Coordinates care, delegates appropriately, documents accurately, and ensures compliance with regulatory and evidence-based standards.
  • Demonstrates compassionate, age‑appropriate care while maintaining legal awareness, patient rights, and a therapeutic environment.
QualificationsEducation/Training
  • Graduate of an approved school of nursing. Meets all mandatory, developmental, and performance competency requirements for Baptist Health unit/department.
Licensure/Certification
  • Maintains current State of Alabama RN license.
  • Maintains current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.
Experience
  • Must have at least 1 year of RN experience.
