Job description

State Fair Community College will be an exceptional student-centered college that empowers individuals to grow, thrive and prosper within a changing world. State Fair Community College provides relevant and innovative learning experiences that successfully prepare students for college transfer, career development and lifelong learning. SFCC is committed to being accessible and affordable; values collaborative partnerships; and strengthens and enriches the intellectual, economic and cultural vitality of the communities it serves.

The person in this position will be responsible for duties related to teaching as an adjunct faculty. Internet instruction may be required. Associate of Applied Science instructors : Bachelor's degree (associate degree and/or industry certification applicants considered) and three years related industry experience and demonstrated record of teaching excellence preferred.

Demonstrated student centeredness. Associate of Arts instructors: Master's degree in the field with 18 graduate hours the discipline and demonstrated record of teaching excellence. Demonstrated student centeredness.

Preference given to those with previous community college experience and those whom are in state residents. Have a working knowledge of computers as a medium to manage and improve instruction. Ability to interact with a broad range of people both on and off campus in a positive manner.

Show evidence of excellent oral and written communication skills. Possess an understanding of the range of needs community college students represent. Possess a commitment to the philosophy and mission of the community college.

Willingness to improve instruction through professional development including pedagogy and technology. *Completed applications will include SFCC application, cover letter, resume and transcripts. Employment will require a criminal background check at College Expense.
