Job description

We are a growing new construction plumbing company seeking a highly detail-oriented Starts Coordinator to manage permitting, job starts, purchase orders, and builder coordination. This position plays a critical role in ensuring every project is fully approved, documented, and packaged accurately before field work begins.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage all new construction job starts
  • Research and navigate local municipality websites for permit requirements
  • Prepare, submit, and track permit applications
  • Communicate with municipal offices regarding approvals and inspections
  • Pull purchase orders from builders’ ERP systems
  • Review POs for accuracy and scope alignment
  • Build and assemble complete job packages for field teams
  • Enter and maintain accurate job data in builders’ ERP systems
  • Verify all documentation is complete and compliant before release
  • Track deadlines and proactively follow up on outstanding items
  • Maintain organized digital records and compliance documentation


Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience in construction administration, plumbing coordination, or similar role
  • Experience working with local municipality websites and permitting processes
  • Experience using Quick Books Financial software.
  • Experience using builders’ ERP systems ITK, Supply Pro, Buildbase, etc.
  • Experience reviewing purchase orders and assembling job documentation
  • Strong understanding of residential new construction workflow
  • Extremely detail-oriented with the ability to focus for extended periods
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Clear and professional communication skills


Preferred

  • Plumbing or mechanical trade experience
  • Production homebuilding experience
  • Permitting experience
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and/or PlanSwift.
